Using YouTube To Bring Massive Traffic To Your Website
These days, having a popular website can be a real challenge, particularly since you must compete with over 206 million sites around the world to get a person’s attention. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a very important tool you can use to bring visitors to your website, but again, almost everyone is using SEO so the differences between sites is minimal, and there is no guarantee that SEO will achieve any lasting high position in search results, at least not in the natural listings and especially after an even short period of time has passed since the SEO effort.
However, there is a 100% free tool you can use to help your website stand out from the crowd… and its name is YouTube. A quality video can bring hundreds, thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands or even millions of visitors to your website. YouTube has an extraordinary potential to spread the word about you and/or your business. People will show more trust in you if they can develop a real connection with you, and a video helps do that by “personalizing” you. It's a great place to make yourself known because it has the potential for a tremendous amount of traffic that may watch your video. However, if no one finds your video, it really isn’t much of a marketing tool, right? So, to make sure that doesn’t happen, I’ll give you a few tips on how to make your videos incredibly popular on YouTube.
If you don't have much experience with videos, you could very well show that on the first 10 or so that you do. Don’t let this make you nervous. Most videos on YouTube are obviously done by amateurs so this will not be as negative as you might think. Even so, this will only be a temporary situation. As you practice, the quality of your videos will improve. Just be the best you can be, and let your true personality show. You want to be yourself at all times. You don’t even have to ask if you have a particular talent, because I KNOW you do: we all do! Maybe you are a good cook, while someone else is great at poetry or singing or even just in listening and making helpful comments. Whatever your talent, show it on YouTube. An audience of millions of people around the world can benefit from you, as well as you from them. It doesn't matter whether your videos are educational or just for entertainment, make them authentic and unique.
Second, keep your topic short (1 to 3 minutes, maximum). The highest quality perfumes come in the smallest bottles. Most people are impatient and if your video is too long, it's very likely your viewers will get bored before they watch the whole thing, which can result in them giving you a bad rating as they leave. You want to avoid this. Have an entertaining opening, and then get to the point quickly. Keep it short and sweet.
Third. Regardless of what you say or do on your video, make sure it accomplishes something important: The key is that you must entertain your audience, even if you have decided to teach chemistry, math, or a science, be different. Make your class fun for ordinary common people; don’t assume they “have” to listen like students in a classroom would have to do. Think of yourself as more of an entertainer than as a teacher. Have some fun with what you do and your audience will have fun, too.
Fourth. Now I have to get a little technical. Sorry, but this is very important. You also need to make sure that the title, tags and description of your video contains the keywords you want to be popular on YouTube searches. Here’s an example. Let's say your video is about “How to prepare a vegetarian recipe.” Make sure you type in the keyword "vegetarian" in the title, tags AND description (all three!) Also, make sure you put the most important keywords at the beginning of your title and description of your video. Here’s another example: let's suppose you want to rank higher for the keywords "Italian music" rather than for the singer's name (which, for this example, we'll pretend is "Lucio Battisti"). Your title should then be: "Italian Music by Lucio Battisti", rather than "Lucio Battisti Singing Italian Music". The same principle goes for the description. Your most important keywords should always be first and/or at the very top and try to mention them several times throughout the description. That would be even better.
Fifth (and last, you have made it this far, keep reading!) Keep an active social life within the YouTube community. If someone leaves a kind comment on your video, don't forget to respond with a "Thank you!" Courtesy pays just as many dividends online as it does in real life. Be nice. Also, you can be nice by commenting and rating other people's videos, which will encourage them to view yours and do the same for you. Oh yes, one more thing: it is very important to have your own website's link on your YouTube channel and videos description. Don’t’ forget to display your URL on the video itself. When you do, you'll be surprised how quickly and effectively you'll start getting more clicks on your website which in time, will be converted into more customers for your business.
