Welcome to my world. Here's the philosophy that rules my life:
The world, we are told, was made especially for man – a presumption not supported by all the facts.… Why should man value himself as more than a small part of the one great unit of creation? —John Muir, naturalist and explorer (1838–1914)
Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace. —Albert Schweitzer, French philosopher, physician, and musician (Nobel 1952)
Peace begins on your plate —Unkown
Ask the experimenters why they experiment on animals, and the answer is: "Because the animals are like us." Ask the experimenters why it is morally okay to experiment on animals, and the answer is: "Because the animals are not like us." Animal experimentation rests on a logical contradiction. —Charles R. Magel
We have enslaved the rest of the animal creation, and have treated our distant cousins in fur and feathers so badly that beyond doubt, if they were able to formulate a religion, they would depict the Devil in human form. —William Ralph Inge, Outspoken Essays, 1922
It is difficult to picture the great Creator conceiving of a program of one creature (which He has made) using another living creature for purposes of experimentation. There must be other, less cruel ways of obtaining knowledge. —Adlai Stevenson, American statesman (1835–1914)
 | | Charles Darwin | There is no fundamental difference between man and the higher animals in their mental faculties.… The lower animals, like man, manifestly feel pleasure and pain, happiness, and misery. —Charles Darwin, naturalist and author (1809–1882)
Even in the worm that crawls in the earth there glows a divine spark. When you slaughter a creature, you slaughter God. —Isaac Bashevis Singer, writer and Nobel laureate (1902–1991)
As long as people will shed the blood of innocent creatures there can be no peace, no liberty, no harmony between people. Slaughter and justice cannot dwell together. —Isaac Bashevis Singer, writer and Nobel laureate (1902–1991)
I don’t hold animals superior or even equal to humans. The whole case for behaving decently to animals rests on the fact that we are the superior species. We are the species uniquely capable of imagination, rationality, and moral choice – and that is precisely why we are under an obligation to recognize and respect the rights of animals. —Brigid Brophy (1929–1995)
The love for all living creatures is the most noble attribute of man. —Charles Darwin, English naturalist (1809–1882)
Personally, I would not give a fig for any man's religion whose horse, cat and dog do not feel its benefits. Life in any form is our perpetual responsibility. —S. Parkes Cadman
Romina Chirre: "My greatest hope in life is not to reach the end of my life without having done everything that was in my hands to stop brutality, injustice, abuse, cruelty to ALL forms of living beings. I don't believe in going to Church every week and supporting animal slaughter for food or any other reason at the same time. God would be happier to see His children respecting one another and demonstrating their superiority by showing compassion to the weakest ones rather than by listening to them repeat prayer after prayer and then abusing the innocent, and which is worse, using religion as an excuse for their cruelty. This is not intended to offend anybody. We all can make a difference. If you feel this concept offensive, maybe is because you don't like to listen to this 'inconvenient truth'. But I'm not here to please your ears or your ego, but to fight for what I believe is fair, to fight against injustice and inhumanity.
